MA Modern China Studies - Application and Admission

Minimum admission requirements

Here you will find further details concerning admission to the program. This information is a translation of the German language regulations of study; the German text is the legally binding version.

The next application deadlines are April 15, 2020 (non-EU citizens) and July 15, 2020 (EU-citizens). Beginning in 2020, all application materials must be submitted electronically by these deadlines. No paper or emailed applications will be accepted. The website for electronic application from the University administration will be available on March 18, 2020 and linked from this page. More details and instructions on electronic submission of materials will be provided as soon as possible. Please contact the MA coordinator, Dr. Amanda Shuman (master@sinologie.uni-freiburg.de), if you have any questions. 

The University strictly requires certified copies of all paperwork attesting to your language level(s), transcripts, and degrees. Please note that the copy of each certificate must be certified by an official notary or university. Chinese nationals must also submit a valid APS-Zertifikat if their studies were completed at a Chinese university.
