René Trappel has been a guest editor for the first issue of the Journal of Current Chinese Affairs in 2016. The topical issue presents five case studies on policy implementation in contemporary rural China. Among the contributions is also an article by Dr. Trappel on "'In Accordance with Local Conditions': Policy Design and Implementation of Agrarian Change Policies in Rural China".
