New publication: "Multiple Futures – Africa, China, Europe"

The future is as uncertain as it is inevitable. In order to deal with its inescapable contingency, individuals and societies use a wide variety of strategies that always relate to a society’s present. This issue compares relations to the future in contemporary Africa, China and Europe: expectations about the future, forms of creating knowledge about the future and strategies for managing the future. While distinct social, economic and political situations cause differences in approaches to the future, global entanglement creates parallels and convergences.
